Navigation Variation V
This variation encourages (linear) exploration via the page contents itself, even more so than variation 4. This is encouraged by collapsing of the navigation by default. Scroll down to view the usage of a "breadcrumb" menu on deeper page exploration.
Section Deep V
Once a user is deeper within the site (at least one section deep), the navigation passively keeps the user on that initial entry path by honing in on the parent section (e.g., initiative type, content type, featured content) and offering relevant nodes or other features. / This particular instance above shows a user in an Initiative Node (specifically, a Story Type Node) with a campaign directed towards highlighting other related stories. We could, instead, run a campaign where the dropdown highlights laboratories, locations, job openings, and so on.
